Opportunities and Benefits of Joining the Meditation Retreat and Pilgrimage Tour in Taiwan 2023

  1. Taiwan has open borders; covid quarantine upon arrival is not government mandated
  2. Covid has separated us for almost three years; we want to gather with our friends and family in person with our Holy Master and Sangha in the most wonderful places Taiwan
  3. Taiwan weather is warm at this time, averaging 21 degrees C/~70 degrees F, compared to many other places that are still cold in the winter. February is known as one of the best months to visit Tainan.
  4. Taiwan is very safe with very low crime rate. Taiwan ranks 3rd safest country worldwide by Numbeo. It was also listed as safest country in the world to walk alone at night.
  5. Taiwan has beautiful nature, from snow mountains to rocky mountains, beautiful forest mountains, waterfalls, rivers, hot springs, and ocean. We plan to visit some of these unique and beautiful places.
  6. Taiwan has many vibrant cities and villages with various delicious foods, local shops, and night markets. We will visit some of these places.
  7. Taiwan has many Buddhist holy places you can go, with more than 2,500 Buddhist temples and 9,000 Taoist temples. We will go to two holy Buddhist monasteries and one holy temple of Taoism.
  8. Taiwan has many nice beaches around the island. There are several very nice beaches in Kenting in South Taiwan where we intend to go during this tour.
  9. Taiwan has a rich cultural heritage with many wonderful cultural centers and events. We plan to tour some of these cultural centers and events.
  10. In Taiwan, you can learn about many ancient and modern Asian cultures, religions, and social systems, and especially can learn Buddhist culture, ceremony, and infrastructure
  11. This time, we have the rare opportunity to stay in our Golden Light Palace Temple in Taiwan and do retreat without any interruptions. Most of the time, lay people cannot stay in the Buddhist temples. It is an amazing structure following the design of traditional Buddhist mandalas and is located amidst a beautiful forest in the
foothills of southern Taiwan. This is the site of the future Dzogchen Buddha Path Retreat Center Asia.
