Longchen Rabjam Drimé Özer (1308–1364), often known simply as Longchenpa, is revered as one of the greatest masters in the history of Tibetan Buddhism and as the pre-eminent systematizer of the Dzogchen (Great Perfection) lineage. Within the Nyingma tradition, his name is spoken with deep respect, for his life and writings brought extraordinary clarity, depth, and completeness to the teachings of Dzogchen—teachings that point directly to the innate, luminous nature of mind.
