Introduction Regarding the Dzogchen Buddha Path Saga Dawa Program

The “Month of Saga” – the fourth month of the Tibetan Lunar calendar – is incredibly important and auspicious. This fourth month marks the 2,982nd anniversary of Our Supreme Guide Buddha Shakyamuni displaying sacred birth beneath a laksha tree in Lumbini; the 2,948th anniversary of Buddha subjugating the maras and attaining enlightenment; and the 2,902nd anniversary of Buddha Shakyamuni displaying death between the twin sala trees in Kushinagara.

To honor and celebrate Our Supreme Guide Buddha Shakyamuni, our kind beneficent teacher Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche, along with the International Dharma Teachers and Sangha, will conduct a Dzogchen Buddha Path Saga Dawa Internet Teaching and Practice Program on the birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana of the Incomparable Buddha Shakyamuni.

Please add this Dzogchen Buddha Path Saga Dawa Teaching and Practice Program to your calendar and joyfully send this link to your contact lists so that other people may also have the opportunity to attend this auspicious event.

The Goals and Objectives of the Saga Dawa Program

  1. Immediate goal
To transform our bodies, speech, and minds into the enlightened wisdom of all Buddhas.
  2. The ultimate goal
To swiftly liberate all beings from suffering and to establish them in Unsurpassable Enlightenment, Buddha, the absolute goal of the Dzogchen Buddha Path Lineage.
  3. The short-term objective
To train our bodies, speech, and minds every day to embody the inherent miracles of natural healing through taking refuge in Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha and holding the vow of bodhicitta.
  4. The long-term objective
To bring the natural wisdom of all Buddhas and enlightened beings into our daily lives.

Importance of Supporting and Participating in this Program

Enlightened wisdom is not something that somebody gives to you, but rather it is something that you can achieve through learning, contemplating, meditating, and practicing the Dzogchen Buddha Path. Like that, participating in and supporting this Saga Dawa program you will achieve merit and wisdom. Whatever amount of merit and wisdom you achieve, you have that much more power to benefit yourself and others.

Even during this difficult time, we are establishing enlightened wisdom ourselves with the blessings of all Buddhas and enlightened beings and especially Buddha Shakyamuni and all Dzogchen Lineage Masters, along with the assemblage of Our Holy Vajra Master, Dharma Teachers, and precious Sangha.

It is rare to have such an extraordinary virtuous event to occur in this world during such difficult times. Therefore, it is very important to support such beneficial Dharma events and virtuous activities according to your resources, time, and energy for the sake of yourself and the whole world.

It is surprising that some people are willing to spend huge amounts of resources, time, and energy for nonvirtuous events and harmful activities, but are not willing to spend even a small amount of resources, time, and energy for beneficial events or virtuous activities. Such actions never bring benefit to self or others.

We encourage everyone to participate in and support this auspicious Saga Dawa event.
