Event Description:
Join H.E. Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche and the International Dzogchen Buddha Path Sangha as we learn about and celebrate this great enlightened master! Longchen Rabjam Drimé Özer (1308–1364), often known simply as Longchenpa, is revered as one of the greatest masters in the history of Tibetan Buddhism and as the pre-eminent systematizer of the Dzogchen (Great Perfection) lineage. Within the Nyingma tradition, his name is spoken with deep respect, for his life and writings brought extraordinary clarity, depth, and completeness to the teachings of Dzogchen—teachings that point directly to the innate, luminous nature of mind.
In particular, Longchenpa’s contribution to the Dzogchen Buddha Path Lineage of learning, contemplation and meditation cannot be overstated, since he compiled and condensed Buddha’s tantra and dzogchen teachings into extraordinary collections such as the Lama Yangtik, the Zabmo Yangtik, the Yeshe Lama, and especially, the Longchen Nyingtik. Furthermore, his great work, The Seven Treasures, is the primary source of study for the practitioner on the complete and unmistaken path of a vast pandita. It is precisely through following Longchenpa’s teachings that one can attain the result of Buddha within one lifetime. Countless practitioners since Longchenpa have achieved many sublime accomplishments through his lineage blessings. Thus, we wholeheartedly honor and celebrate Longchen Rabjam Drimé Özer!
